This September, I’m Going The Distance to help patients with cancer at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
I’m going the distance this month to reach my goal, and every kilometre I move will help make sure the very best cancer care is available to everyone in our community.
This cause is deeply personal to me. My girlfriend Kylie Simpson has been through cancer twice, and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse has been incredible throughout her journey. I’ve seen first-hand the struggles that cancer brings, not only through diagnosis and treatment, but also in the ongoing, life changing challenges after surgery. These battles do not simply end when treatment does, they continue every single day.
Kylie is the strongest person I know. Even when she was bedridden in hospital and recovering from surgeries, she was still producing a show for the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Her heart, soul, and drive are inspiring, and I am in awe of her resilience. I support her every day, alongside her amazing family and friends, and together we see just how important compassionate, research driven cancer care really is.
Kylie is also walking and raising money herself, which again shows her passion and determination. We will be walking together, side by side, to give back to the incredible team at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse who have done so much for her and for so many others.
I am so proud of Kylie and grateful for the strength she has shown. She has made me a stronger and better person too, and that is why I want to give back.
All donations will help Chris O’Brien Lifehouse continue to provide world class cancer treatment and holistic support services for people living with cancer.
Every kilometre counts, and every donation makes a difference. Can I count on you?
