This September, I’m Going The Distance for the wonderful Team at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse who have helped us so much with Sophie’s care this year.

In February this year our 16yo daughter, Sophie, was diagnosed with an aggressive bone cancer on her knee and femur. Since the diagnosis we have spent on average 2.5 weeks a month in Chris Obrien Lifehouse whilst she has had chemo and recovered from related illnesses. We have 3 months of chemo still to go and then at least  another 5 years of check ups. 

The staff have been incredible - so kind and caring. The hospital are also conducting clinical trials (of which Sophie is part of) to learn more about this rare cancer.

If anyone wants to join us for a walk or has a dollar or 2 to contibute - we would be very grateful.

IWith your support, every kilometre will count towards ensuring the very best cancer care is available to everyone in our community.

All donations will help Chris O’Brien Lifehouse continue to provide compassionate, research-driven cancer care, as well as holistic support services for people with cancer.

Tuesday 30th Sep
On the last day of raising money for COBL I wanted to say thank you to all of the staff. We are back here again unexpectedly as Soph has temps. The staff are so welcoming and supportive and had us all sorted by the time it took us to drive into hospital. We are all so grateful for the incredible care offered here. Just need to find a cure for this horrible disease. 
Thank you also to all our family and friends for your prayers and support. It’s been a huge year. Xx

Last push - adding kms

Friday 26th Sep
With 4 days to go I’ve reached my goal and I’m going to try and make it to 70kms. Being in hospital the past 2 weeks has made it a bit tricky but am aiming to push out another 9kms. 
Soph is managing to walk short distances without any crutches - so she’s crushing it!!

Over the past week we have had a few new team members join us and lots of support and encouragement. Thank you everyone. This is truly appreciated and helps us keep motivated and moving forward. It is helping us feel useful and like we are taking action against this horrible disease. We truly truly appreciate everyone who has helped us through this difficult year.  We are very blessed
