Sasha Defaux

This September, I’m Going The Distance to help bring cancer care closer to home for regional Australians.

I’m going to get moving every day in September to reach my goal for the month. With your support, every km I cover will ensure more people across NSW can access life-changing, specialist cancer care, in an environment that feels like home.

Please support me by making a donation. All donations will help Chris O’Brien Lifehouse provide compassionate, research-driven cancer care, as well as holistic support services that ease the burden of distance for regional patients.

Thank you for your support!

A cure for Lizzie

Monday 26th Aug
My dearest friend Lizzie has been diagnosed with a grade 4 Glioma, brain tumour. She has had a an 8 hour brain surgery, and now is in the biggest fight for her life. Beloved mother to her teen daughter, wife to Matt, Lizzie is determined to do all she can to live her life facing this shocking diagnosis. She will begin chemo and radiotherapy asap at Lifehouse. My connection to Lifehouse is strong, and deeply personal. My sister, Oumani Browne, received the most wonderful care during her ovarian cancer diagnosis, and treatment. She lived only 3 & a half years sadly. She left her son an orphan and my life is profoundly changed. Cancer is cruel. Lifehouse is a wonderful place for everyone going through treatments, surgeries, survival and end of life, and the families affected. I will walk, swim and move with my friend Lizzie’s recovery in the forefront of my mind. As always, my sister in my heart forever.
