This September, I’m Going The Distance to help patients with cancer at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
I'm going the distance for the people I work alongside every day.
As Chief Operating Officer at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, I don't need to imagine where your donation goes — I walk past it every morning. It's the specialist nurse compassionately guiding a patient through every step of their cancer treatment. It's the researcher chasing a treatment that didn't exist five years ago. It's the psychologist, the dietitian, the volunteer at the front desk who remembers your name.
This month, I'm walking, running and (somewhat less gracefully) golfing my way to my kilometre goal. Every step, every stride, every wayward drive down the fairway is for the patients and families who never chose to be here, and the team who chooses to show up for them every day.
Your support helps Lifehouse keep delivering compassionate, research-driven cancer care and the holistic support that treats the whole person, not just the disease — for everyone in our community, no matter their circumstances.
I've committed the kilometres. Can I count on you for the rest?
