This September, I’m going the distance to support people going through cancer treatment, especially those who have to travel long distances to receive treatment.
For the month of September, I'm participating in the Go the Distance challenge for my dad, who underwent cancer treatment at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse 3 years ago.
I'm aiming to complete 385km which is the distance my dad travelled from Port Macquarie to the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse in Sydney for treatment and surgery. Receiving a cancer diagnosis is tough enough, yet alone having to travel a long distance to receive treatment.
September marks 3 years since his surgery and things are looking good so I wanted to do this to recognise everything he went through and the sacrifices he had to make during that time.
I'll be making up the 385km through swimming, walking, running and cycling throughout the month of September.
Any support would be greatly appreciated. The money raised will help Chris O'Brien Lifehouse continue to support patients and families, as well as advanced cancer research and treatments.
