This September, I’m Going The Distance to help patients with cancer at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.

This year I’m joining the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Go the Distance Challenge because this place holds a very special meaning for my family.

Last year, both my daughter and I were patients at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. The treatment, care, and support we received was nothing short of amazing, particularly for my daughter, whose surgery and treatment were far more complex and difficult than mine.

Living six hours away from Sydney, it was daunting to face an extended stay, but thanks to their incredible facility, I was able to stay at the You Can Centre apartments within the centre whilst my daughter underwent surgery and treatment.

I can’t express how grateful I am for the compassion, professionalism, and ongoing support provided to patients and families. Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is more than just a hospital—it’s a place of comfort and hope.

Walking in this challenge is my way of giving back, raising awareness, and supporting the incredible work they continue to do for so many families like mine.
